Rachael Yamagata
- how did I find her

I'm a member at MySpace. A wonderful place when you're out looking for music not supported by the big and often extremely commercial record companies.

I talk there with friends also into music of all kinds, talk to people who actually have the skills to perform different kinds of sounds, and making it sound good, and of course, people just being there trying to find friends/partners/whatever.

One of the band I'd surely never heard about in Sweden is Bullet Therapy, with the charming Dee as a singer. It's wow to here their CD evolve from the first rough sound to something that really rocks! But for a band from Maryland, Sweden is not the main target for marketing... So I was lucky to start to chat with Dee and find their music. As a bonus I even get to see pictures of his extremly cute son, born this summer. =)

So when I logged in tonight, they were promoting this Rachael Yamagata... Never heard of... And I sneaked into her page, where you can listen 3 songs of hers... She describe herself sounding like "Janis Joplin meets Fiona Apple". Makes it even more exciting :) And she's not bad at all. I listen to two of her songs (the ones that I liked most) several times now. Thanks for sharing it Rachael. It's not metal at all, and still... I like it!

I have found both known (but unknown to me) bands there and artists I'm sure 99,9999 % of the population even never will hear about, but it's a great mix and a great opportunity to broaden your public if you're an artist/group.

I've met friends/made aquiantances, I've found music - what more can I ask for? Thats two of the most important things in my life. (When I can order some junk food from there, and get it delivered at my door, then their business idea is complete)

PS - I hate the fall incoming with such speed here... I'm freezing and I DON'T like it!!! I wish to have a reason to wear this t-shirt...D.S
